A troubling study published in the American Sociological Review states that the number of people saying there is no one with whom they discuss important matters nearly tripled in the past 30 years. Now 25% report they have no confidants, family or non-family. They found that another 20% only have one person they can approach. This means that close to half of all Americans are very isolated. The study found that unprecedented numbers of Americans are lonely. This series offers a biblical alternative to this relational poverty that Americans are facing.
