Tim Nickel

Building and Grounds Manager

Tim started attending Life Church in 2015 and came on staff in 2023. Tim is a seasoned hospitality leader with 26 years of experience and a formal culinary background. After earning his degree in 2004 and honing his skills at the Westin La Cantera, he spent 14 years with Rudy’s BBQ, progressing from Manager to Managing Partner. He is a specialist in new restaurant openings (NROs) and multi-unit leadership, with a proven track record of driving growth and leading high-performing teams in the culinary world.

Favorite Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 in the King James Version (KJV) advises, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

He is passionate about: “Depends on the day. I’m passionate about food , mountain biking, people in general give me energy. I like seeing God’s creation.”

In his free time he likes to: “Spend time with God, hold my wife’s hand, hangout with the kids, biking.”

Favorite Life Church Event: “Daddy Daughter Dance! Becoming a father was a miracle!”

Special Skills: “I can do a lot of things really well. I’m a quick study who turns ‘I don’t know’ into ‘I’ve figured it out.'” Or Ill find someone to help. Which we all need.”

Nancy Nickel is the true “Family Manager”—a professional organizer who keeps our world spinning. Honestly, without her, the wheels would’ve fallen off a long time ago.
Brooke is as smart and focused as she is funny. She’s a unique mix of saxophone player, thespian, and basketball player with a massive heart for people. She’s a “jack of all trades” in the making!
Colt is exactly like his name: a total pistol. He’s a natural athlete who can do anything with a ball, but if you stick around long enough, you’ll see his incredibly kind and loving side, too.”

Tim is a rare blend of focused, fun, and fantastic! He is such a hard worker and is so dedicated to what he does. We LOVE having him on our team! Also, if you can get him to pull out some dance moves for you, you won’t be disappointed!
